VCSSCamp Goes North – Yes we’re doing it again!

After the success of the first VCSSCamp in 2013, and again in June this year we asked if anyone would like to see VCSSCamp take place in their local area. And you did!

So we are pleased to announce that “the best free digital event for voluntary sector support providers” (Please let us know if you know of another as we’d like to attend that too), will take place at The (fabulous) Core, home of  Voluntary Action Barnsley on 27th November 2014. Places are FREE and are available from the ‘Book Here’ page of this website.

This FREE event will provide space for people from VCS Local Infrastructure Organisations (that’s CVSs and Volunteer Centres etc) across the country to meet and to talk. It will be an unconference format so there are no presentations or sales pitches and no pre-set agenda. All you need is a desire to talk about, or ask questions about the way social media and digital technology has changed the landscape we work in, what we are doing and could be doing about and with it. You set the agenda on the day.

This event is intended for staff, managers, trustees and volunteers primarily working for or with local support organisations. Whilst we won’t stop others attending, due to capacity of the venue we may have to hold back bookings at first from other VCS organisations. We hope you understand.

So, if …

… you work for, lead or govern a voluntary sector local support or infrastructure organisation,

… you want to get together with like-minded people for a day to discuss the important issues your organisation faces, that might have a digital solution,

… you want to find out from others how open data, web tools, social media, or even just basic computers and technology are being used for good,

We look forward to seeing you!

I've worked in the voluntary sector listening to people and helping them use technology for 17 years and believe strongly that people come first and technology second. I'm always learning from people I talk to at meet-ups and bring experience of running the NetSquared Midlands Meet-up, VCSSCamp unconferences and many social media surgeries. I'm also the UK & Europe contact for the NetSquared Tech for Social Good meet ups. I connect people and communities to get the most from technology and the web. I like listening, linking and real beer & hate seeing the wheel being reinvented and sweetcorn.
